The IT systems and software procedures which enable the website to work acquire some personal data during their normal functions: this is implicit in the use of internet communication protocols. This is information which is not collected with the aim of being associated to the affected identified parties; nonetheless, the data, by its own nature, could be collected by third parties and enable the identification of the users through processing and association with data held by these parties. Within this category of data are IP address or domain names of computers operated by the users who connect to the website, URI (Uniform Resource Identifier) addresses of requested resources, the time of request, the method the request was submitted to the server, the size of the file received in response, the numerical code indicating the state of the response from the server (successful, error, etc.) and other parameters concerning the user's operating system and IT set-up. This data is solely gathered with the aim of obtaining anonymous statistical information on the website’s usage and to control its correct functioning; the data is deleted immediately after it is processed. The data could be used to establish liability in the hypothetical case of a cybercrime against the website.

The optional, explicit and voluntary submission of an email to the addresses shown on this website implies the subsequent acquisition of the email address of the sender, which is required to respond to the requests, and the acquisition of other personal data which is added to the communication.

Cookies are small strings of text that are sent from the visited websites to the user’s computer (generally the browser), where these are saved and then retransmitted to the same websites when the user visits them again. Two large categories exist: technical cookies and profiling cookies.
This website uses technical cookies with the sole purpose of “transmitting a communication across an electronic network, or to the degree strictly necessary for the provision of a service explicitly requested by the user to provide such service” (art. 122, paragraph 1, of the Code and according to further updates, as per Regulation (EU) 2016/679). The use of technical cookies (session variables with information saved on the hard drive of a device that can be anyway deleted; it is also possible to disable cookies following the indications provided by the main browsers) is strictly limited to the transmission of session identifiers (comprised of random numbers generated by the server) and of data used in the required software to allow a safe and efficient browsing experience of the website. Cookies (or session variables) can avoid the need to adopt potentially dangerous IT solutions which can put user privacy at risk and do not allow the procurement of personal identification data of the user.
This website does not make use in any way of profiling cookies (intended to create user profiles and send ads based on the user’s preferences while browsing).
This website does make use of so called third-party cookies intended to receive on one’s own device and during browsing on a website, those cookies sent from different websites or servers (information is stored by third parties): examples include social plug-ins for Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and LinkedIn (these are sections of the page generated directly by these websites and integrated in the host website) which are used to share content on social networks. These plug-ins imply the transmission of cookies from and towards all the websites managed by third parties: please refer to their relative privacy policies to understand how they manage the collected information.
